The Titans take the field at noon CT today at LP Field in a game that will obviously determine whether they’re the really mediocre team that lost to the Jaguars in Week 1 or the much better team that beat the Ravens in Week 2. Well, maybe the stakes aren’t that quite that high (and this isn’t Running Man), but we will get more information about their 2011 season. The inactives are starting to come out, and here they are:
DENVER BRONCOS: CB Champ Bailey, DE Elvis Dumervil, WR Eddie Royal, WR Demaryius Thomas, TE Julius Thomas, DT Marcus Thomas
TENNESSEE TITANS: DT Zach Clayton, CB Chris Hawkins, S Chris Hope, C Kevin Matthews, DT Malcolm Sheppard, QB Rusty Smith, OT Byron Stingily
For the Broncos, there are no real surprises as Dumervil, Royal, and the trio of Thomases were Out on the injury report. Knowshon Moreno and D.J. Williams were both Questionable but are playing, while Bailey was Questionable and is not. Bailey being out is obviously big for Kenny Britt. Brandon Lloyd was Probable, and it’s no surprise he’s playing. The Titans will have to be sure to keep a close eye on him, or else he may give them fits like he did in last year’s game.
For the Titans, this is the first time this year we’ve seen all their preferred defensive linemen healthy, which is a nice thing to see. I think Clayton got less run last week, so it’s no surprise for me to see him down. Hope being out again isn’t a surprise to me. Babineaux filled in ably last week, and if he’s not fully healthy, let him rest unless you need him. William Hayes and Damian Williams were both Questionable and are active.
Feel free to post your comments here during today’s game. I’ll try to chime in as well from time to time.
