NASHVILLE – With the firing of head coach Mike Munchak Saturday, could the Tennessee Titans target Vanderbilt’s James Franklin?
Franklin, the 41-year-old firebrand coach in in-state Vanderbilt, had helped bring the Commodores back to respectability in going 24-15 three years (11-13 in the SEC), is one of the hot names being mentioned in NFL circles such as Cleveland, Minnesota and in his own home state at Penn State.
Known for his fiery passion and aggressiveness on offense, Franklin could be a possible fit for a Titans team that was devoid of explosive plays, despite having All-Pro running back, Chris Johnson.
Thanks to Vanderbilt’s 41-24 win against Houston in the BBVA Compass Bowl and the now-vacant Titans head coaching position, Tennessee may not have to go very far for it’s new head coach in Franklin.
