With their second round pick, the Tennessee Titans addressed a need for another potential playmaker at the OLB position by selecting North Carolina’s Zach Brown.
Referred to by Jon Gruden during ESPN’s Draft Coverage as a track-athlete playing football, Brown’s athletic ability is highly apparent as evidenced by an impressive 4.44 forty-yard dash time. Of course, as indicated by Gruden’s comment as well as others who’ve chimed in on his abilities, Brown is known more for his physical talents than his football instincts.
Personally, at this stage of his career, Brown can be considered a project faced with the daunting task of turning his potential into production on the NFL level.
As he develops his talents, I expect Brown’s speed to wreak havoc as a factor on special teams, until he’s ready to contribute on Jerry Gray’s defense.
