The Titans have their home opener at noon CT today against the Ravens at LP Field. Like Drexel in his preview, and for that matter seemingly most every other Titans fan, I’m not too optimistic about how the game will go. Offensively, I’d expect the Titans to do a lot of the same things they did last week-try to establish the run, find Kenny Britt in one-on-one matchups on the outside, and Nate Washington inside against the Ravens’ depth corners. Defensively, I think it’s all about the defensive line play-the tackles not getting blown back and the ends doing a better job of setting the edge and taking away Ray Rice’s cutback lanes.
Inactives are coming out for today’s game, and here’s what we know:
BALTIMORE RAVENS: CB Chykie Brown, CB Chris Carr, WR Tandon Doss, OLB Sergio Kindle, G Ben Grubbs, NT Brandon McKinney, CB Jimmy Smith
TENNESSEE TITANS: CB Chris Hawkins, DE William Hayes, S Chris Hope, C Kevin Matthews, QB Rusty Smith, OT Byron Stingily, WR Damian Williams
No big surprises on the list for either team, as Carr and Smith were out on Friday’s injury report and Grubbs was doubtful, which virtually always means the player won’t play. The starter for Grubbs at left guard has not been announced. For the Titans, Hope was doubtful while Hayes and Williams were questionable. Jordan Babineaux officially gets the start for Hope, while Dave Ball starts at DE for Hayes.
