After the jump, the usual notes and observations.
1. Understandably given the presence of Chris Johnson and who they've wanted to be offensively, the Titans have been near the bottom of the league in terms of plays with 0 backs on the field. By running a couple such plays tonight, the Titans may have doubled or tripled their prior season total.
2. Craig Stevens played a higher percentage of snaps than he did last week against Jacksonville. He even played 31 snaps when the Titans only ended the game with 20 rushing attempts. Spreading the field does not have to mean playing with no big players. Of course, he didn't really help his claim for more playing time on non-run downs with that pass he failed to haul in.
3. Alas, Kenny Britt did not get his token one target this week.
4. The defensive line rotation is the defensive line rotation. That said, Klug and Wimbley were the relative winners this week relative to last week as they soaked up the extra snaps from facing 71 as opposed to 60 offensive plays.
5. At some point, I need to sit down and figure out just how well Zach Brown is playing this year in terms of the details and how much his presence is missed (or not) on the plays the Titans are taking him off the field.
6. Colts third-most used WR Griff Whalen: 26 snaps. Nickelback Sensabaugh: 27 snaps. The Colts had a bit of a WR rotation going on, so it's not a perfect comparison, but it's good enough for me.
7. One snap for George Wilson after his only snaps last week came when Michael Griffin was out. He played the St. Louis game, but as the starter at free safety because of Griffin's absence. Is this just matchup-based, or did bye week self-scouting tell the Titans 3-S packages, whether Big Nickel or Ruby, should be a thing of the past?
