If Brady Penny is going to be traded then this outing didn’t help the Boston Red Sox front office.
Ian Kinsler lined a three-run homer over The Monster in the fifth inning to cap off a four run frame and the Texas Rangers beat Boston, 5-1.
Penny suffered his second loss of the season pitching 5 2/3 innings, seven hits, five runs, two walks and five strikeouts.
David Ortiz drove in the lone run for Boston on an RBI single in the eighth inning.
Goat of the Game – Penny
Just not a solid outing by Penny here. Although, if Penny doesn’t give up that long ball to Kinsler it may have been a different story.
Next Game – 6/06 vs. Texas Rangers – Derek Holland/Jon Lester
The Sox need to get back on track against a starter with a 6.33 ERA.
