The Twitterverse (short for Twitter universe, read the dictionary yo) went nuts when Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak opted to send out his punt team instead of attempting a 50+ yard field goal in overtime. Kubiak’s defensive strategy nearly backfired when Graham Gano hit a 52-yard field goal to win… or did he?
As you saw, Kubiak decided to be just like the cool kids at the lunch table and called a timeout just before the ball was snapped, redeeming himself for what seemed to be a bonehead strategy on the previous possession. Gano was then forced to get on one knee and chug while the Texans drove down the field for a game-winning field goal from Neil Rackers.
