Texans re-sign Kareem Jackson, Ryan Mallet, add Brian Hoyer

Cincinnati Bengals v Houston Texans

Today, the Houston Texans rewarded cornerback Kareem Jackson with a new four-year deal worth $34 million. Jackson has 10 interceptions in his five-year career, as well as 241 total tackles. The move keeps the promising cornerback under contract and keeps the young core together.

The Texans have also made moves at the quarterback position. Ryan Mallet has been re-signed to a three-year deal worth $14 million. Additionally, they have brought in former Cleveland Browns starter Brian Hoyer to compete with Mallet for the job. The details are unclear at this point.

The Texans have also brought back wide receiver Damaris Johnson on a one-year, $1 million deal. These moves are looking to stabilize a franchise, which could be a dark horse in the AFC to make a playoff run. With a lot of young talent, the Texans could be on their way to future success.
