Fitness Fight Factory steals show at Bellator 19:
Thursday, May 20
Verizon Theatre, Grand Prairie, Texas
Ben Askren and Dan Hornbuckle advanced to the final round of the Season 2 welterweight tournament with dominating performances and featherweight champ Joe Soto demonstrated that he is well-prepared for the winner of the 145 lb. tournament in slicing opn Diego Saraiva’s head in a non-title superfight.
Yet, the energetic crowd made it clear that most of them bought their tickets to support Johnny Bedford, Doug Frey and Chas Skelly of Colleyville’s Fitness Fight Factory (F3). The team went 3-0, and Bedford and Skelly may very well have secured themselves a spot in the upcoming bantamweight and featherweight tournaments, respectively.

The only winner of The Ultimate Fighter not currently working for the UFC, Travis Lutter (10-6) returned from a seven-month layoff to face off against jiu-jitsu black belt and Renzo Grace-product Rafael Natal (12-2). “Sapo” proved to sharp for Lutter, knocking out the Fort Worth resident at 4:12 of round one.
In another clash of youth and experience, WEC-vet Mike Campbell (7-2) ground out a unanimous decision, halting the three-fight winning streak carved out by certified “old school” fighter Yves Edwards (37-16-1) of Houston, Texas.
