For the second straight week, UConn Huskies center Hasheem Thabeet has been chosen as the Big East Player of the Week.
And what a week for Thabeet it was as he helped the Huskies to a 2-0 record. In the two games, he averaged 16.5 points, 18.0 rebounds and 8.0 blocks.
In the win over Syracuse, he had 8 points, 16 rebounds and 7 blocked shots as he helped the Huskies hold the Orange to 49 points, 29 points below their average. In the win over Seton Hall on Saturday, he posted career-highs with 25 points and 20 rebounds to go along with 9 blocked shots.
Thabeet and the Huskies are back in action tonight against the Pittsburgh Panthers in a Big East showdown of the ages.
