Thanks, Notre Dame

I just wanted to take a quick minute and give a big thanks to the Notre Dame Football staff, and players. My nephew, Quentin, took part in the three day camp up in South Bend last week. Q is a HUGE Irish fan, in a land dominated by Buckeyes, and has overcome a genetic athletic deficiency throughout his life ( his Father is a Skunkbear Lover).

Overall it was a great experience for him, and his mother, who was close to filing for a divorce once she ran into Brady Quinn. Quinn was up there for something- she swears it was for her.

I asked him a lot of questions, but the one answer that stood out for me, was when I asked him who was the “coolest” to him. He basically said everyone was really nice and helped him out a lot. The blogger in me needed specifics, so I prodded him a bit further and asked who really stood out in that same context. He said Brian Smith, Ben Turk, and Robert Hughes were awesome. I did ask him if he spoke to “The People’s Champ,” (Emeka Nwankwo). He said no, but that he was freaking HUGE. I think he was scared of him. Good, hahaha.

Thanks again, to all of those that helped with this camp. Seeing inside the locker room, going on the field, and all of that stuff is pretty cool, but it is the interaction with the players and coaches that will be remembered the most. It was a special treat for a really good kid and my favorite godson.
