I’m sure I’m not alone (or at least I hope I’m not) when I say I enjoy stuff like this, but I absolutely get a kick out random chance encounters documented via social media.
Remember when, not that long ago, free agent pitcher Brian Wilson showed up on Twitter with Las Vegas legends (Sin City’s longest running headliners) Penn and Teller?
Now there’s this.
Just made a "shortstop" @aria to say hi to Derek jeter. Cool guy! pic.twitter.com/XLeItBHigq

I have no idea what Carrot Top and Derek Jeter could, would or should be talking about, nor have I dreamt up some hackneyed punchline to try to assume you. I just love the idea that somewhere in Carrot Top’s mind, he thought “Derek Jeter is in town promoting a charity golf event…I have to go introduce myself to him”.
Not that long ago, I was at an event talking to Jim Leyland when WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair interrupted us to introduce himself to the former skipper.
Why? I have no idea.
But, apparently, the “limousine riding, jet flying” 16-time World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion is, by his estimation, “a big fan”. Who knew?
