Todd Tichenor is the umpire who tossed Redmond, Gardenhire, Varitek, and Francona in MN the other night and is a relative newcomer to Major League umpiring. Tichenor is a AAA umpire who has been called up to the big leagues for only 81 games since 2007 and has a history of ‘itchy finger disease.’
