That’s Why Callahan Wears the “C”

-2

Awesome goal cam pic of Ryan Callahan celebrating his hard working, short handed goal during last night’s 4-1 victory over Buffalo which exemplified why he is the Rangers captain (via Blueshirts United)…

Here’s John Tortorella on Callahan (via Rangers Rants)…

“That’s why you keep on putting him over the boards. It’s a hard thing for me in all situations not to look down the bench and have him go over. That’s why he’s wearing the C. He’s a big part of what we want to be, what we’re trying to be consistently.”

…wow, has he delivered as Rangers captain.

Speaking of shorthanded goals, seriously Hagelin?

Video of Haglin’s shorty…

Torts on being comfortable using Hagelin on the penalty kill…

“In my mind I wanted him to get his feet wet. I think his game dipped a little bit. I thought he played better tonight. He chased pucks down tonight. But I do want to get him incorporated into the penalty kill because speed is so important killing a penalty. So we’ll go through a process with him.”

…Hagelin’s speed is on another level. Such a weapon for the Rangers. Would love to see him on the wing with Richards and Cally.

…he’s excelled on the pk in college and with the Whale so Torts should feel more than comfortable putting him out there. As Torts says, speed on the pk is huge.
