Last Thursday was the 38th Annual Philadelphia Eagles City All Star Football Game and let me tell you, it was a great game. Both the Public and Non-Public Leagues played hard nosed and fun football making exciting plays up and down the field. There were even Philadelphia Eagle players in attendance including WRs Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson and newly acquired LB DeMeco Ryans.
The final score was 29-22 with the Public League pulling off the victory. The quarterback for the Public League, Sharif Smith of Furness High School had two rushing touchdowns getting the Public League back in the game. Despite a brilliant season, one player did not get the amount of attention he deserved: Sr. RB from Dobbins, Jameel Davis.

Davis had a great Senior campaign for the District 12 AAA Champion Dobbins Tech Mustangs. Davis had a few breakout games this season including week 4 when he took 7 carries for a total of 153 yards. Jameel Davis had similar impacting efforts as he ran for 123 yards off 7 carries vs. Olney and 94 yards off 19 carries vs. Gratz in weeks 9 and 10. Finally in week 11 vs. Boys Latin, he had 200 rushing yards on 16 carries. Davis finished the season with 833 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. In the All-Star game, Davis had a great performance playing fullback, which is not his natural position, against the Non-Public’s linebackers and defensive line.
Davis also got player of the week on offense from www.tedsilary.com for his week 11 performance vs. Boys Latin. Jameel Davis football career does not end right here. He will continue his football career at Kutztown University. The Golden Bears are getting a great runningback, a great football player, and a great person overall to add to their program. The sky is the limit for Davis. Here at TSL, we will keep tabs on his career as it progresses.
