‘The Admiral’: Spurs will be strong next season

It was a heartbreaking way to end a fantastic season for the San Antonio Spurs as they lost to the 'The Admiral': Spurs will be strong next
seasonThunder in six game in the Western Conference Finals. The team had one of the best records in the league, and looked invincible in the opening rounds of the playoff but in the end couldn’t reign in a fifth title for the franchise.

And though Spurs fans feel that was perhaps the team’s best shot at capturing another title, Spurs legend David Robinson says the team will be just as good next season.

“It was great. Obviously, they had a great year last year, and they just needed to get over the hump a little bit. It’s a great group of guys. Physically, they look good. I think they’ll be just as strong as they were last year.”

Robinson, who was visiting the training camp of the NFL’s Houston Texans along with his son Corey, is right, however, the team is basically going to be the same. The only major difference (as of now) is the addition of French player Nando De Colo to an already stacked corp of guards. Moreover, the team still is undersized at the center spot.

Also, with Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Patty Mills, Tiago Splitter, and Boris Diaw all playing at the London Games, one has to wonder if these players will be a bit tired with a full training camp and 82-game season on the way.

And if anyone is curious, Robinson is cheering on the Texans this season despite living in San Antonio where the Dallas Cowboys rule the city.

“I’m trying to figure out what team I want to root for because my wife is from Chicago, so she’s a Bears fan,” Robinson said. “Every year I’ve been picking different teams, but this year I’m going to be a Texans (fan).

“I have a (David) Carr jersey at home from a couple years ago, but now I’m going to have to get another jersey and be a Texans fan.”

What do you have to say Spurs fans? Do you think the Spurs will be just as strong next season?
