It was the only move after that trash I witnessed in person on Sunday. It was unacceptable football and the final straw for Ryan. Not that I blame him solely for this, but a move had to be made. More information to follow but I have to assume this is now Dennis Allen’s show to run after the bye week.
Ryan got off to a fantastic start as the Saints defensive co-ordinator when he turned the worst defense in NFL History into a top 5 defense that helped get the Saints back into the playoffs in 2013. Since then, though, the defense has been a dumpster fire. Ranked 31st in 2014 and 31st going Sunday before giving up almost 400 yards at halftime and 47 points by game’s end. Thanks for 2013, Rob.
