The Aftermath: (12/16/14) @ Detroit Red Wings

NBA: Finals-San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat

Lucky number seven for the Jackets. They come out ahead of the Red Wings in a shootout 1-0. Lets take a look at the game that was.

Highlights:

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good: Jeremy Morin

While many people on our staff panned the Erixon-Morin deal, Morin showed his worth tonight. In 12:50 of ice time, he was able to get two SOG and four hits. In twenty even strength events he came out as +2 and a 55% overall. By the end of the game he saw himself on Johansen’s wing on the first line, a move that may put a little spark into his game over the long haul. It was also great to see that he wasn’t afraid to step up in the neutral zone and deny zone entries. While this is only one game, it is encouraging to see him get opportunities in the lineup so early in his Blue Jacket career. The Washington Capitals come into town next which should be a shot attempt filled game, I am looking at that game as a possible litmus test for the young player.

The Bad: Run Support

If Bob was a pitcher he would be yelling at his hitters to give him something to work with at least. It has been a complete and utter tight rope act for the team as of late as they have been in overtime more often than not. They may be running slightly dry for the moment but Bob has been there when they have needed him most. When will it end for the Russia goaltender? Let’s all hope it is never.

The Ugly: Nothing

Anything I would put here would be extremely nitpick-y. ENJOY THE STREAK, PEOPLE.
