Tonight in Madison Square Garden, the Columbus Blue Jackets fell to the New York Rangers in overtime by the score of 4-3. The game which had a playoff like atmosphere intensity at times and the Jackets saw their team give their best shot to one of the Eastern Conference’s best.
Highlights:
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
The Good: Nick Foligno, Artem Anisimov and Brandon Dubinsky

42-17-71 is a line that many only saw in their dreams earlier this season with Dubinsky and Anisimov going off and onto injured reserve most of the season. Tonight they really took advantage of what was given to them and were the three best Corsi performers among the forwards this evening. Dubinsky’s goal, Foligno’s patience and Anisimov’s zone exits were only a couple of the noteworthy moments of the evening but showed an inkling of what the team and fans can look forward to next season.

The Bad: Johansen, Atkinson and Jenner
While the second line was on one end of the spectrum, the first line was on the complete other. While not necessarily the worst, they got overwhelmed at times and weren’t able to provide the relief needed for the Jackets to take advantage of their forward depth. Largely invisible on the evening, they aren’t normally in this part of the column so expect them to bounce back in the last few games. Too talented not to.
The Ugly: Nada
The team fought hard and probably deserved a better fate. Can’t fault them for the effort they gave this evening.
