The Aftermath: (4/8/15) vs Toronto Maple Leafs

.

The Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Toronto Maple Leafs this evening by the score of 5-0. In a less than stellar showing for the Leafs, the Blue Jackets spanked the Leafs to extend their point streak to eleven games.

Highlights:

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good: All Four Lines

It is a beautiful, beautiful time out on the ice when you get all four lines rolling perfectly in unison. Tonight the Blue Jackets looked like a well oiled machine that could’ve taken down any of the teams in the NHL. Unfortunately for the Maple Leafs they found themselves in the cross hairs of a team that has a point that it has been trying to prove to the rest of the NHL. Some of the lines weren’t the most impressive possession wise but on a night like tonight where the final score seemed predetermined, not a whole lot to be worried about post game for the Jackets coaching staff.

The Bad: Justin Falk

On a night like tonight, any real gripes become more of a nitpick than anything else. I was not a fan of the Prout-Falk coming into the evening and not much has changed. Both are slow, plodding defensemen but Falk especially has looked less than stellar the past two games. Scratching a player like Connauton won’t be a big deal in the grand scheme of things and playing Falk was more than likely an opportunity for a player with a lot to prove but nonetheless it feels odd not to reward the better play with some time on ice late in the season. Moral of the story? Falk hasn’t been good. Let the future take control.

The Ugly: Nothing

Did you watch the game? It was beautiful.
