The All-Star In Memoriam You Didn’t Know You Needed

During Tuesday night’s All-Star Game plenty of fans waited, anxiously to see if there would be mention of the late Tony Gwynn.

Surely, there was going to be something, right?  I mean, the 15-time All-Star passed away nearly a month to the day of this year’s Midsummer Classic.  But, alas, the game was over and there we were.  Empty.

Social media blew up…how could FOX, much less Major League Baseball not pay tribute to one of its greatest hitters?  During a four-plus hour telecast, how could there be no mention of Gwynn’s fellow Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner, Don Zimmer, Jerry Coleman and a slew of the game’s other fallen stars?

Okay, okay…baseball already honors its past every July during its annual Hall of Fame Induction weekend, but, really, why not do something during the All-Star Game?  I mean, outside of the postseason, the built-in national audience is there and if you’re going to spend the night celebrating the game’s current greats…why not look at its past?

Enter Paul Sullivan from Sully Baseball.

Sullivan took it upon himself to right the wrongs from this past Tuesday.  And the internet couldn’t be happier.
