Who better than Coach Nick of BBall Breakdown to point out most of Rajon Rondo’s flaws last season in Sacramento. I’ve been saying the exact same things Nick illustrated in his breakdown since February of 2016 when I covered the return of Rondo to Boston in a Kings uniform.
Here is a staggering statistic that Rondo fans simply cannot ignore:
Rondo led the NBA in assists but there was more to it than that. I believe Nick is the best in the business when it comes to breaking down film, which is why his YouTube channel has succeeded throughout the years. And he did a great job in breaking down Rondo’s tendencies and how he actually got most of his assists.
Just to be clear, I am not a Rondo hater nor do I have anything against him. I just didn’t think he was a good fit with the Kings and I continue to believe his brand of basketball is irrelevant in today’s NBA. There is a reason why the Chicago Bulls gave him a short-term deal, when he reportedly wanted a four-year commitment from the Kings.
The Rondo breakdown begins at 2:05 and ends at 5:23 of the video.
