Anyone who reads my material on a regular basis knows how bad I want to see hundreds of thousands of people line up to buy tickets for Bucs games; no more blackouts, HD recordings of home games I dont go to, sight of a full Raymond James on game day, you name it.
But with the news that the Bucs have ripped down the larger than life photo banners of their players like Josh Freeman and Gerald McCoy of the walls of Ray Jay. The timing cannot be a coincidence, with the lockout of players under way.
Last time I checked, season ticket sales are still being promoted, Bucs T-shirts, pennants, Car Magnets, Computer Mouse Pads. etc all with the same likenesses of same Josh Freeman, Gerald McCoy, Ronde Barber, etc are still being sold, still generating income for the NFL owners.
But your going to rip down photos of your players off the stadium?
Bucs fans, keep on eye on this situation, and remember it when it comes time and your asked to shell out for Bucs merchandise this year. Josh Freeman IS the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gerald McCoy IS the Bucs, and so on.
Maybe if we put our wallets away, someone will hear the silence of the cash registers.
Or maybe those posters are just getting replaced with new ones…
…we hope.
