I don’t know if you follow other sports at all, but there is a pretty significant game in another sport going on this evening. In order to ensure that at least one or two fans went to their games, a lot of teams played this afternoon. Among those teams were Washington and Philadelphia, who were so efficient that they played the same game together. Apparently they do this every year on Super Bowl Sunday. It was made a little more notable this time because Caps superstar Alexander Ovechkin scored his 30th goal of the season, and round numbers are fun. Here are lest night’s scores.
Oh, and one prediction, Carolina 34, Denver 21.
SCOREBOARD
New York Rangers 3, Philadelphia 2 (SO) – Very evenly matched, this game. Good battle.
Washington 3, New Jersey 2 (SO) – Very evenly matched, this game. Good battle.
Montreal 5, Edmonton 1 – Very eve– Oh, sorry I was stuck for a second. Edmonton is broken, and even Montreal can beat them.
Detroit 5, New York Islanders 1 – The only goal for the Isles was a pity goal in the 3rd.
Boston 2, Buffalo 1 (OT) – Thank goodness for Loui Eriksson
Pittsburgh 3, Florida 2 (OT) – There aren’t any ties anymore, guys. IF you don’t win right away, you have to keep playing.
Ottawa 6, Toronto 1 – See? Toronto knows what’s up. They just wanted to get home.
Chicago 5, Dallas 1 0 Dallas hasn’t lost often, but when they do… whoo boy.
St Louis 4, Minnesota 1 – That bright light streaking across the horizon is the Minnesota Wild cashing back to earth.
Nashville 6, San Jose 2 – 2 is almost more pathetic than 1.
Calgary 4, Vancouver 1 – The Flames exploded for 3 goals in the third. Keep your flammables away from heat sources.
Winnipeg 4, Colorado 2 -Still better off without Evander Kane.
