The Celtics are a competitive bunch of guys. And apparently, the flow of the competitive juices cannot be dammed, even off the floor.
Jason Terry was on WEEI yesterday and was asked about playing with Captain Intensity, Kevin Garnett. That’s when he dropped this little nugget.
“Everything’s definitely much-expected — his passion, his energy, the way he communicates on the defensive end, his presence, his vocal leadership. It’s been everything I’ve expected. I’m having a great time. … All our practices, all our shootarounds, have been very competitive. There was a situation where we were in the hotel the other night, and who was going to be first to the elevator was the competition. These guys compete 24/7 around here, and that makes you feel good as a veteran player.”
I’m picturing the game you used to play with your brothers and sisters… or kids in school… “last one to the car is a rotten egg!!”
Except it’s KG’s game… so I picture a group text saying “last one to the elevator is a dirty f***ing piece of $h*t”… or something like that.
I love that these guys can’t stop trying to win at everything. They won’t win them all, but I know every loss will make them a little sick.
