The Chicago Bulls just beat the Brooklyn Nets, which means your Boston Celtics are now officially heading to the NBA playoffs.
The loss drops the Nets to 37-44, which means the best they can do is tie the Celtics. And since the C’s own the tiebreaker, they can do no worse than 8th, even if Indiana wins its next two games. Miami can’t catch Boston.
This also means one more Celtics win or one more Pacers loss locks the Celtics into the 7th seed.
Congratulations to the Celtics on an amazing run. We thought before the season that if everything broke the right way, the Celtics might possibly, maybe, could be in the mix for a playoff spot. None of us thought things breaking the right way would involve all of this.
