Its unofficially official; Bucs to play Bears in England Oct.30th

last bucs bears gameOfficially that is, its still unofficial, but I’ve received word from my reliable source that the deed has been done.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be playing the Chicago Bears on October 30th at Wembley Stadium.

An official announcement will probably take place next week. My source is reliable, and has contact with not only the Bucs, but the Tampa media and others involved.

I personally love the splendor and pageantry involved with the Bucs playing in London, and to be honest, a home game vs the Bears would just have been a 50/50 mix of Bears fans anyways. Im just afraid that this could be a major distraction and could have unfortunate repercussions against Bucs fans from the UK from American people who don’t understand that a lot of British football fans are as knowledgeable, in fact in some cases, more  so, than their American counterparts

Now that the deed is done, I am certainly excited for the football fans of the UK who get to see our team. I just hope this doesn’t become a habit. Playing a game halfway around the world will have its own problems for logistics. Add to the fact the Bucs will probably now start getting national attention and recognition, Monday, Thursday and Saturday games are sure to follow as well.

An October 30th game would put the game around week 6, which means the following week will be the Bucs bye week. More info is sure to come, until then, cheers! The Bucs will be on TV   against Da Bears!!
