The Disallowed Goal

rhondablog

I’m sure you’re just like me and still fuming this morning over the disallowed goal last night, but here’s the reaction via Dave Lozo at NHL.com:

Devils coach Peter DeBoer…

“I thought it was the right call. Marty gets pushed into the net. It’s the right call. I give them credit for getting it right.”

…i guarentee DeBoer doesn’t feel the same if the situation was flipped.

Anton Volchenkov…

“They have rules — you hit the goalie, you get a penalty,” Volchenkov said. “I saw him push Marty. I maybe pushed him a little, but I didn’t push so hard.”

…they have rules, you hit someone from behind, you get a penalty.

Marian Gaborik…

“I don’t understand,” Gaborik said. “It’s frustrating. If I would have run him, I wouldn’t say a word. But the guy pushes me into him. I tried to open my leg for a pass, I tried to stop. But he just pushed me into Brodeur.”

…you keep driving to the net Marian.

John Tortorella…

…smart move Torts.

More player reaction…

…love Hank calling out Brodeur for selling it.

And even Al Trautwig was pissed (h/t to reader Matt S.)…

…i’m usually not a big Trautwig fan but that is damn funny.

And here’s video proof that the refs hate the Rangers…

…the thing that gets me the most angry is the Rangers deserved the call after the bad bounce goal the Devils had against them last week. Where were the so-called “Hockey Gods” on this one?
