As the clock struck 4:15 PM, the Philadelphia Eagles playoff hopes were crushed by the New York Giants because the Giants defeated the Jets 29-14; thus, eliminating the Birds from playoff contention.

Even though, the Eagles were eliminated from the playoffs, a game still had to be played. On the first drive of the game, the Eagles went down the field and scored a touchdown on a 13 yard pass from QB Mike Vick to TE Brent Celek. From that point on, the Eagles offense scored 13 straight unanswered points going into the 4th quarter leading 20-0.

By this point of the game, the Eagles defense had already knocked out Cowboys QB Tony Romo in the 1st quarter with a bruised right hand so for the rest of the game QB Stephen McGee played. Then, Cowboys RB Felix Jones was taken out in the 1st quarter as well, so RBs Sammy Morris and Chauncey Washington was splitting time in the backfield. The Cowboys didn’t score a touchdown until there was seven seconds left in the game, when QB Stephen McGee found WR Miles Austin for a four yard touchdown pass.

The final score from this game was Eagles 20 Cowboys 7. Heading into the last week of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Washington Redskins at Lincoln Financial Field, while the Dallas Cowboys will travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Giants for the NFC East crown.
