At the core of it, the game of baseball hasn’t changed all that much over the years.

Sure, pitchers no longer have to actually throw four balls in order to intentionally walk a hitter — which is really a bummer — the bases are 90 feet apart and one team has to score more runs than their opposition to win.

What has changed, though, is how the game looks while it’s being played.

Three of the most important pieces of playing baseball that have changed drastically over the years are bats, balls and gloves. Fanatics.com has provided us with a great visual of how this equipment has transformed throughout the past couple centuries.
