Tonight, at the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1. The Flyers got on the board first, in the 2nd period with a goal from center Brayden Schenn; this was Schenn’s second goal this season. Then later in the period, on the power play, Hurricanes right winger Jerome Samson scored a goal, which was the first of his career. Going into the 3rd period, it was all tied up between the Flyers and Canes, until rookie center Sean Couturier scored his 7th goal of the season/career.
From there on, the Flyers behind a strong performance by goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and his 35 saves won the game.
The Flyers take the season series away from the Hurricanes 3 games to 1. The Flyers this season are (25-21-4) with 54 points. The Flyers take on the New York Islanders at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
