I think it’s pretty safe to say that Sean Doolittle is excited for the release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
The Oakland A’s reliever hit his local cinema Thursday night dressed up as Han Solo’s faithful Wookiee sidekick Chewbacca and, yes, that’s Doolittle’s girlfriend Eireann Dolan at his side dressed as everyone’s favorite Sith Lord Darth Vader.
yo this Chewbacca costume is really itchy. wookie mistake. #TheForceAwakens pic.twitter.com/cNjl5bVyl1

Another baseball player who is, no doubt, fired up about the latest installment in the “Star Wars” franchise is former infielder David Eckstein.
But unlike Doolittle, the 2016 Hall of Fame nominee isn’t amped to head to the nearest multi-plex. Nope. My man is, no doubt, sitting there watching the “Star Wars” money roll in.
I can explain.
Eckstein’s wife Ashley runs Her Universe, a clothing company that produces Sci-fi licensed merchandise targeted specifically for girls and women. And among their current top sellers? You guessed it…“Star Wars” gear.
That’s not all though. Ashley’s connection to the “Star Wars” universe goes way beyond sweatshirts with the movie’s heroes fa la la la la’ing. The actress-turned-entrepreneur originally made a name for herself as Ahsoka Tano in the 2008 animated film “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and the current series “Star Wars Rebels”.
