The field at Nippert Stadium was getting a much talked about makeover this offseason. Mainly in regards of new turf. A new coach has new ground and his football team literally has new ground. It's very symbolic.
I'll stop writing and let you look at the new field at Nippert Stadium via Go Bearcats:
The first two major notable things are that the numbers on the field have changed. They were red outlined with white, now they are white outlined with black. The end zones went from white letters to black letters. The outline of the field was entirely black, now it's just the areas the team can't enter that are black. Also new are the logos for the American.
I like the new look. The red numbers were cool and made UC stand out a little bit, but it's not like white will be that hard to get accustomed to. The C paw logo at the middle of the field is still there. It looks like a field Cincinnati would play on. That's good enough for me.
It's just one more reason to be excited about the rapidly approaching Cincinnati football season. It could be the last season at Nippert Stadium until 2015 because of the renovations, so enjoy the 37th best experience in college football while you can. Maybe the shiny new turf will bump UC up a spot or two.
PS, if you are outraged about the turf changing, I feel sorry for you and you need to reevaluate the things in your life that cause you to get upset. Real problems should be at the top of the list. The color of the numbers on a field you see 6 times a year should not make your blood boil. The end zone letters should not make you curse people on twitter. If you have, you need to apologize and need to consult a professional. Bearcats Blog cares.
