Back in March, Ben Verlander made news when he tied an Old Dominion University school record by crushing three homers in a game. But, as it turns out, big brother Justin isn't the only Verlander adding hardware to the family trophy case.
Sure, it's a long way from being named both the American League MVP and Cy Young Award winner, but it's a start, right?
Through Friday, Ben Verlander was leading the Monarchs with a .371 batting average, 41 runs scored and ten homers. He is also tops on the team with 18 multi-hit games.
In 2010, he was a 46th round draft pick by the Tigers, but, obviously, opted to take his game to college.
