In Game 3, it had everything from fights through out, to goal scoring, and player ejections, but the Philadelphia Flyers came out with the victory defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins 8-4. With this win the Flyers lead the series 3-0 and can win the series on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers took control of this game starting in the 1st period as they would score four goals, courtesy of Max Talbot, Danny Briere (twice), and Matt Read. For rookie Matt Read it was his first goal in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in his career. Then in the second period Matt Read would pick up his second goal along with Wayne Simmonds getting his first Stanley Cup Playoffs goal.
The Flyers were 4 of 7 on the power play and goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov had 31 saves. The first star of the game went to Danny Briere as he had two goals and one assist. The second star of the game went to Claude Giroux as he had one goal and one assist, and finally the third star of the game went to Jaromir Jagr, who had three assists.
