Chad Qualls finally got what he asked for and it happened this afternoon. The Phillies traded Qualls to the New York Yankees for a player to be named later or for cash considerations. Qualls was optioned to the minors this past Thursday after he gave up three runs in the eighth inning versus the Pirates on June 27th. Qualls only pitched in 31 1/3 innings for the Phils and had a 4.60 ERA. Could this be the beginning of a fire sale for the Phillies? We will see in the upcoming weeks.
