Tim Wakefield has now pitched in more innings for the Red Sox than any other pitcher in team history. He broke the record in one of his best starts of the season, or career for that matter. Wake went seven and a third and gave up just one earned run on four hits to earn the win. Oki and Ram Ram finished the eighth and Bard earned his second save by pitching a scoreless ninth.
Youk went 3-4 including a double that hit near the top of the wall and drove in a run. David Ortiz broke out of his slump by going 1-4 with a RBI.
