The Rams Have Left St. Louis + The Friday Links

Rough week, fam.

It’s one thing to lose a playoff series to the Cubs. But when the terrible losses don’t transition into looking forward to next year… what then?

+++++

News came down from on high this week that the Rammies were peacing STL for LA.

As bad as the football has been the past 10 years plus, we were always a few daft draft picks and a couple shrewd free agent signings away from being right back in the mix. Concentrate on the future; leave the past in the past. Onward!

So, um.

There’s no pussy-footing around it. Those of us that followed the Rams experienced a death. Some of us got angry. Some of us got sad. Most of us just stared blankly ahead. The finality of the situation right there in the open, begging for us to look.

+++++

The healing has started.

But there are going to be YEARS of painful moments ahead.

Kroenke cheesing ear to ear at the ribbon cutting of his new $2B+ NFL LA complex in 2019 seems like a long time away because it’s a long time away. Between now and then a million more things will make you wince. SportsCenter won’t help.

Just remember that seeing each one makes you a little more distant. A little stronger. A little bit closer to whatever healed feels like for you.

We’ll get back to good eventually. Promise.

Now, The Friday Links…

A special last link to @WWESubway because after a rough week, it’s good to know that some beautiful bastard is out there making Twitter accounts like this to make our days 1000% better.

That’s it. That’s the work week. The Cardinals Winter Warm-Up is this weekend. And if you thought that Cardinals fans were invested before, something tells me that it’s only going to get worse this season. Like we’re doubled down on an 8 with a 3 showing and our life savings on the line.

DO IT FOR SAINT LOUIS, CARDINALS.
