The re-match: Raptors lose to the Indiana Pacers, 86-79

The Toronto Raptors weren't able to get past the Pacers this time, facing Indiana for the 2nd time in the last 3 games. The Pacers were looking for some revenge, and handed the Raptors a 86-79 loss. The Raptors arriving in  Indianapolis only 5 hours before the game due to extreme weather conditions probably didn't help matters for Toronto, but sometimes these situations are unavoidable.

Terrence Ross, Amir Johnson, Jonas Valanciunas, and Greivis Vasquez only scored a combined 9 points on 3 of 26 shooting from the floor. Clearly, off nights for these 4 key contributors.

DeMar DeRozan's hot hand continued, pouring in 28 points, but his hand was forced a bit with several teammates unable to find their scoring touch. Kyle Lowry had 16 points, but with much of the team struggling to score he only had 2 assists on the night. Patrick Patterson continues to raise his game and be a key contributor as a reserve, scoring his season high as a Raptor: 20 points.

Five Pacers players finished the game with double digit scoring, led by 22 points from Roy Hibbert. Hibbert was clearly looking for a better efffort in this game, as he fouled out of the previous match up against the Raptors.

That makes 2 losses in a row for the Raptors, albeit to the 2 best teams in the Eastern Conference and the NBA.

Toronto will look to get back to their winning ways right away, as they host the Detroit Pistons TONIGHT, January 8th, at the Air Canada Centre.
