The Redskins’ replacement for Jordan Reed is an incredible athlete.
He is bigger, faster, stronger and more durable than Jordan Reed is.
He has great hands like Reed and almost the same catching radius.
His route running is not as good but no linebacker can keep up with him.
His blocking is also a work in progress.
Who is this secret replacement that even Coach Jay Gruden may not know yet?
Running Back Matt Jones.
He doesn’t have to line up at Tight End to replace Jordan Reed’s reliable hands and getting open (though it would be a great idea to add that versatility).
Let’s see if Gruden gets it for the Falcons game or sometime later in the season. If Jones is targeted less than 3 times in the air, something is wrong.
