Player of the Game
Lonnie Chisenhall earns tonight’s honors. Although Asdrubal Cabrera had three hits on the night, Chisenhall gave the the Indians their biggest swing in win probability on the night. You can read about what he did below.
Feathers Up
The Indians were able to catch up to Yu Darvish’s fastball early in the game, forcing him to throw a lot of pitches. In fact, the Indians had at least one baserunner in every inning until the 4th inning. Chisenhall continued to swing a great bat as he blasted a three-run homerun in the third. After singles from Cabrera and Jason Kipnis, Chisenhall knocked a 3-2 slider from Darvish off the right-field foul pole to bring the Indians to within one run at the time. The very next inning, Asdrubal Cabrera hit a solo homerun which tied the game at four.
Feathers Down
After recording a 1,2,3 inning in the bottom of the first, Tribe starter Trevor Bauer endured a rough second. After forcing Adrian Beltre to fly out for the first out, the Rangers got to Bauer with four hits the rest of the way. Alex Rios singled, former Indian Chris Gimenez doubled on a ground ball down the left field line, Rios scored on a RBI sacrifice fly by Leonys Marti. Michael Choice singled in Gimenez and Rougned Odor capped it off with a two-run home run; the Rangers scored four runs total in the inning.
With the game tied at four, the Indians wasted a golden opportunity in the sixth to take the lead. After two straight singles from Yan Gomes and Carlos Santana, Darvish settled in to retire the next three hitters in a row.
The overused Indians bullpen could not keep the game tied for long. As soon as Bauer exited the game in the seventh inning, Marc Rzepczynski gave up a solo homerun to Michael Choice and the next inning saw Scott Atchison, Nick Hagadone and John Axford yield the Rangers insurance run in the eighth.

On Deck: The Indians and Rangers will square off in a rare Arlington afternoon game. Josh Tomlin will face Rangers RHP Nick Tepesch (2-1, 4.43). Tepesch only lasted 2 innings in his last start against the Nationals giving up four earned runs and three walks.
