Lost among all the hoopla of the quarterback battle is the fact that the Badgers are continuing to find a kicker they can rely upon. Place kicking was a big issue last year and it may prove to be one in the early portion of 2013, but the matter should eventually sort itself out.
For those of you who have been under a rock since last season, this remains a two-man race between Kyle French and Jack Russell. Both have their moments and a good deal of potential, but both have missed some crucial kicks (but, let's be real, most kickers have).
On the bright side, it may speak to the quality of this year's squad that we are just a week away from kickoff and we are discussing kickers among all things.
