The Pirates are playing the Nationals in Pittsburgh this weekend. Because I live in North Carolina (five hours from DC, seven from Pittsburgh), I can’t watch the game. Because for some reason Chapel Hill is Nationals/Orioles territory and I’m blacked out by Bud Selig and MLBAM’s crazy/dumb/arcane blackout policy. I know I complain about this every year and most of you are tired of hearing about it, but dammit, it never stops pissing me off.
In any case, Livian Hernandez and Jeff Karstens are pitching tonight in what has to be one of ten least interesting pitching matchups in all of baseball in 2011. The Pirates need some wins to head back towards .500 and because their first homestand was brutal to watch. First pitch tonight is at 7:05.
UPDATE: Rainout! Makeup on Monday night.
