Last night, the Philadelphia Sixers played a tight close game in the first half vs. the Chicago Bulls but that all changed as they dominated the second half, defeating the Chicago Bulls 109-92. The Sixers push, believe it or not started at the end of the first half when Lou Williams made a layup as time expired.
Then in the third quarter, PG Jrue Holiday had put up a quick five points in the first two minutes. That was the spark the Sixers needed as they played tremendous defense and had high flying offense, outscoring the Bulls 36-14 in the quarter. Holiday led the Sixers in scoring last night with 26 points and had dished out 6 assists. Holiday played very aggressive game against backup point guards C.J. Watson and John Lucas III. Evan Turner got the start in Game 2 and had a great game with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. He played a complete game.
The Sixers played a complete game and it showed in the stats. They shot 59 percent from the field, 80 percent from the free throw line, and 42 percent from the three point line. The Sixers took care of the ball as well, as they only had 9 turnovers. The Sixers exposed the Bulls defense on the fast break and down low in the paint. On the fast break, the Sixers had 25 points and in the paint they had 52 points.
Finally, the biggest stat of the game was that the Sixers out rebounded the Bulls 38-32. If they can do that in Game 3, then they should be able to beat the Bulls on Friday night.
