On Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers fell to the New York Knicks 85-79.
The leading scorer for the Knicks was SF Carmelo Anthony. In 37 minutes, Anthony scored 27 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. PF Amare Stoudemire also contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds in 37 minutes. Rookie F Josh Harrellson from the Univ. of Kentucky had 13 points and was 3 of 5 from 3 point range, in 23 minutes.
On the Sixers side, SF Andre Iguodala had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. PF Elton Brand had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Finally, coming off the bench, SG Evan Turner scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 34 minutes of play.
In this game, C Spencer Hawes did not play due to a back muscle strain. The Sixers are now (7-3) and their six game winning streak snapped. On Friday, the Sixers will take on the (1-9) Washington Wizards at 7:00 pm at the Wells Fargo Center.
