The Red Sox are in the midst of interviewing candidates to replace Terry Francona as manager. So far the Sox have interviewed Phillies bench coach Pete Mackanin and former Red Sox thrid base coach Dalve Sveum. They are also talking with Rangers pitching coach Mike Maddux and Indians bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr.
Earlier in the week Larry Lucchino said the Red Sox were in “the middle of the fourth inning” in the search process. A decision looks to be a few weeks away.
