The guys from Yahoo’s Big League Stew are doing their spring training tour and ‘Duk’s pass through Bradenton means that there’s not one but four Pirate pieces on the site today.
My favorite of the three is the piece about Clint Hurdle and how his past as an ex-phenom helps him to relate to a young club with some promising players. At some point in the next 12 months, I’ll probably write something about how Hurdle’s being given credit for something that he has very little effect over (actually, I hope I do because that will mean that the Pirates are probably doing something well), but I do like Hurdle and I do get the sense that he’s a good fit for this young team.
There’s also the intro piece with some nice pics from McKechnie, the Pirates’ Spring Snapshot, which I think summarizes the plight of Pirate fans pretty well right now, a look at what Neil Walker’s sophomore will have in store.
