Dear Pirate fans,
We’ve wallowed in the misery of this losing streak for too long. It’s time to watch this awful baseball team attempt to play baseball, and it’s time to talk about what this means for the future, because the future is all we can be concerned about at this point in the season and it’s possible that it’s all we ever should’ve been concerned with in the first place.
So here’s what we’re going to do tonight: get your affairs in order before 10 PM. I have some new homebrews that need cracked open for a pilot tasting, so I’m going to do that. Eat dinner, walk your dog, tell your family and friends that you love them. And then at 10, we’re going to turn on the Pirates/Giants game and we’re going to watch it and comment and laugh and tweet and cry and maybe drink more beer (as warranted) so that we can figure out just what the hell is going on with this stupid baseball team that we’ve all devoted way too much time too already. Charlie Morton and Ryan Vogelsong are pitching tonight, which is hilarious and depressing and inspiring all at once and should make this even more interesting/sad/awesome.
