Chris Carr is officially a Tennessee Titan. The CB/KR became the newest member of the gang as a result of Oakland’s unwillingness to match the offer sheet that was signed last week.
Carr gives the Titans another option at the cornerback position and will most likely become the team’s primary returner on special teams. As Andrew’s recent article suggests, the addition of Carr may also provide some clarity as to what direction Mike Reinfeldt and crew will go on draft day.
Carr’s a good pickup and should be an upgrade in the return game. He isn’t an explosive returner but his solid returns should give Vince Young and the Titans’ offense some adequate field position to work with.
The acquisition of Carr is the latest in the long line of good value signings for the Titans this offseason. Along with the recent addition of Josh Stamer, the Titans’ special teams should be an improved unit next season.
Welcome to Nashville, Chris Carr.
